On Tuesday 28 January, Chester Cathedral will host Holocaust survivor, Lady Milena Grenfell-Baines MBE.

The free event comes as part of Holocaust Memorial Day.

It starts at 10am with booking required.

The talk will include a Q&A with Lady Milena.

Lady Milena was born in Czechoslovakia in 1929.

Her father was recommended to leave Czechoslovakia the day before the Nazis invaded because he was both Jewish and a supporter of an anti-Nazi author.

When she was nine years old, along with her younger sister, she was able to leave Prague on a special train, arranged by Nicholas Winton who also saved 669 children.

The sisters were cared for by a local family until their mother was able to arrive one year later.

The family were thus all reunited.
