UPDATE- Flooding alert remains in place for Chester

The flooding alert put in place on Saturday morning (December 7) around Chester, remains in place today.

The Environment Agency raised the alert for the River Dee on Saturday (December 7).

"River levels remain high on the River Dee but are slowly falling", the alert said.

"Flooding is possible at low lying land and roads around Shocklach, Farndon, Handley, Lower Kinnerton, Chester and Puddington.

"Townfield Lane is likely to be cut off.

"We are monitoring rainfall and river levels.

"Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water.

"Flooding is possible at low lying land and roads around Shocklach, Farndon, Handley, Lower Kinnerton, Chester and Puddington."

There will be updates at 5pm this evening.
