Take a look inside Chester’s new IKEA

By Dherran Titherington   9th Oct 2025

Chester's brand new IKEA store officially opened today in the Greyhound Retail Park.

Its launch was celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by Councillor Sherin Akhtar, the Lord Mayor of Chester.

As the retailer's third 'smaller' site, IKEA Chester follows the launch of bases in Harlow and Norwich.

The small store reflects a new format for the business, developed to be significantly faster and more cost-effective to open than traditional IKEA stores.

For those familiar with IKEA's famous meatballs, a selection of food is available at 'The Swedish Bite' for those wanting to eat in or take away.

Customers in Chester can also explore room sets, shop second-hand finds, plan their kitchens and take home a wide range of home furnishings and small furniture items the same day.

Other key features include a showroom and market hall - featuring IKEA's most popular families, home furnishing accessories and limited-edition seasonal ranges.

The new store offers online access to the full IKEA range, with the option of home delivery or free collection in 48 hours, alongside planning services for kitchens and bedroom storage.

IKEA Chester is now open Monday to Saturday 10am – 8pm and Sundays 10:30am - 4:30pm.
