'He was born a fighter' - family pay tribute to man killed in Chester crash

The family of a 72-year-old man from Ellesmere Port who died following a fatal crash in Chester have paid tribute to him.
Kenneth Harper died on Tuesday 22 October 2024, following a collision on Hoole Road, Chester.
A 75-year-old woman from Chester has now been sentenced, after pleading guilty to causing a death by careless driving.
She appeared at Chester Magistrates' on Friday 18 July and was sentenced to 16 weeks in prison, suspended for two years, and banned from driving for 12 months.
Following the sentencing hearing, Kenneth's family said: "On the 22nd October at 5pm our lives changed forever.
"Kenneth, fondly known as Steve, was born in Canada with severe anatomical issues.
"He shouldn't have survived, but he did, he was born a fighter.
"Throughout his life he was strong, he had such a drive to live and thrive, despite the adversity that he faced.
"He was a family man, selfless, kind, caring and always there to help others.
"He was the person who wanted to know everything, to listen, he was always there when we needed him, he will be missed by so many."
Kenneth's family have requested for their privacy to be respected at this difficult time.
