Detectives investigating the murder of a woman in Chester have charged a man in connection with the incident.

At 12.21pm on Sunday 20 July, police were called to an address on Canal Street, Chester, due to concerns for the welfare of a woman.

Officers and paramedics attended the scene and sadly, despite the best efforts of all those involved, Stephanie Blundell, 41, was pronounced dead.

Tony Devenport, 57, was arrested in relation to the incident and has since been charged with murder.

Devenport has been remanded in custody and is set appear at Warrington Magistrates' Court today, Wednesday 23 July.
