Eastgate Square launches pop-up space for independent businesses
By Dherran Titherington 29th Jun 2026
A pop-up retail space designed to showcase independent businesses and creative brands returns to Eastgate Square this July.
'Eastgate Pop-Up' will launch its latest programme from 10–12 July, with fashion brand Queens of Archive taking over the space for a three-day residency.
Known for its exclusive, limited-edition slow fashion collections, Queens of Archive has built a loyal following for its distinctive blend of timeless elegance and individuality.
The brand's arrival at Eastgate Square follows strong customer demand, with visitors regularly asking to see the retailer brought to Chester city centre.
Located in St. Michael's Arcade, in the former LK Bennett unit, Eastgate Pop-Up has been created to give businesses the opportunity to build brand awareness and gain exposure to city centre footfall without the commitment of a permanent store.
Lisa Rogers, Centre Manager at Eastgate Square, said: "One of the things we're most passionate about at Eastgate Square is creating opportunities for independent businesses to be seen, discovered and supported.
"Not every brand is ready to take on a permanent shop, but that shouldn't stop them from having a presence in the city centre."
Queens of archive Creative Director, Nicola Orme, said: "I'm delighted to be showcasing the collection in my home city of Chester.
Eastgate Square is now inviting expressions of interest from independent retailers, makers, artists and brands interested in taking over the space for future residencies.
