Council urges residents to report antisocial behaviour
By Dherran Titherington 29th Jun 2026
Residents across Cheshire West are being urged to report incidents of antisocial behaviour (ASB) as part of a national campaign aimed at making communities safer.
Taking place from 29 June to 5 July, Anti-Social Behaviour Awareness Week aims to raise awareness of ASB, encourage reporting and promote support for those affected.
Cheshire West and Chester Council is backing the campaign and is encouraging residents not to ignore incidents of ASB, saying reports help identify problem areas and enable agencies to respond more effectively.
ASB includes behaviour such as vandalism, noise nuisance, littering, neighbour disputes, threatening behaviour and environmental issues. While often described as 'low level', it can have a significant impact on individuals, communities and local businesses.
The council works alongside Cheshire Police, housing associations and other partners to investigate reports, take enforcement action where appropriate and develop longer-term solutions for communities experiencing ongoing problems.
Residents can report antisocial behaviour to Cheshire Police online, by calling 101 or, in an emergency or where someone is in immediate danger, by calling 999.
Those experiencing persistent ASB may also be eligible to request an ASB Case Review if the same issue has been reported three or more times within six months to the council, police or a registered social landlord. The process allows agencies to review the case together and consider what further action may be needed.
More information about reporting ASB and requesting an ASB Case Review is available here.
