The Cotswold Company is set to open its first Chester store by the end of this year.

Plans were recently submitted by the British furniture and homeware retailer to convert the former Holland & Barrett store at 44 Foregate Street.

Formerly a public house, the Grade II listed building will house one of the brand's largest showrooms to date, spanning more than 6,500 sq. ft.

Customers will find a built-in chair wall, a fully integrated Upholstery Hub, featuring full-length fabric options and a consultation space, alongside sofa cards, fabric samples and painted wood swatches - all available to take away.

One of the company's largest displays of bedroom furniture collections will be showcased through seven bedroom sets featuring the Chantilly, Winchcombe, Bibury and Camille ranges.

A dedicated mattress-testing hub will give customers the opportunity to experience the comfort of the brand's mattresses, handcrafted in the UK by master artisans using traditional techniques.

A selection of freestanding kitchen furniture, including larders and kitchen islands, will also be displayed throughout the store alongside essential office pieces, including desks, bookcases and clever storage solutions.
