Two Chester locals are gearing up to open the city's first ever poke bowl bar.

Set to open later this month, co-owners Shaf and Lydia want to bring "something brand new" to the local food scene.

Poké Bowl, opening next door to Porta on Northgate Street, will offer customisable poke bowls, açai bowls, superfood smoothies, matcha, coffee, brunch options and more.

The poke bar seeks to serve food which is fast, fresh and full of flavour - created with "busy lives and wellness in mind", it will offer food to fit into busy lifestyles.

Vegan, gluten-free and halal dishes will also be available.

"We started this because we were constantly searching for something that was healthy, flavourful, and quick," said co-owner Shaf.

"We realised how hard that actually was to find, with no dedicated poke bowl spot currently in the whole of Chester.

"Between running businesses, working out, and day-to-day life, eating well often ended up at the bottom of the list because it required time we just didn't have. We knew we couldn't be the only ones."

Shaf brings food industry experience through his successful food brand, Guroma, in the New Chester Market.

Together, the duo have combined their passions to launch a feel-good food concept designed to energise, satisfy, and support real life.

Work has already begun on the bright and welcoming space, which will offer both indoor seating and takeaway options.

The team are also keen to collaborate with local wellness communities - such as yoga, gym and pilates studios, to support like-minded businesses and help people live well through movement, mindfulness, and nourishing food.
