Chester theatre to stage new comedy exploring greed and suspicion

Final preparations are underway at Chester Little Theatre for its upcoming production of a comedy about money, greed and suspicious neighbours.
Chester Little Theatre will stage Heaven Sent by Sébastien Thiéry from 9 - 16 May at 7.30pm. The production is directed for Chester Little Theatre by Jess Toyne.
Written by French playwright Sébastien Thiéry and translated by Charlie Gobbett, Heaven Sent tells the story of Bryan, a moderately successful anaesthetist who returns home from work one day to find a £50 note on the table.
At first, nothing seems unusual. But the following morning, his wife Lesley discovers a small pile of money on the lounge floor, and soon bundles - then floods - of cash begin appearing throughout the house.
With the unexplained money continuing to accumulate, the couple are left questioning where it is coming from. As their previously ordinary domestic life begins to unravel, suspicion falls on their Polish cleaner Kasia, before a paranoid neighbour with violent tendencies arrives with accusations of his own.
Director Jess Toyne said: "We hope our audiences have as much fun watching Heaven Sent as we've had in bringing the characters to life in rehearsals."
