The The Chester Station Tap Room has now reached its £50k fundraiser target.

This week signaled the last chance to donate to the project, which seeks to take over an unused section of Chester Railway Station and revamp the historic grade II listed building.

The pub would create 20 jobs in the area and is set to open this Easter.

A fundraiser was set up to transform the location into 'the best beer bar in Chester', with a set goal of £50,000.

It has now surpassed £50k with one day left to hit the target.

The Chester-based brewery announced the news over social media.

It said: "We hit our target and will now get the funds raised. This wouldn't have been possible without our amazing community.

"Thank you for believing in the Chester Station Tap Room.

"We're so excited to share this space with you and for you to walk in and feel the pride of having made it happen.

"Huge, huge thanks to everyone, it means so much.

"The Crowdfunding now moves on to 'get what you raise' with all pledges on top of target going into making the Station Tap the best it can be, and it is going to be fantastic.

"So if you were thinking of supporting us please still do so.

"Crowdfunder ends at 16:30 Friday.

"Be assured - you will be pleased and proud to have helped transform this unloved part of Chester Station into an amazing bar - thank you."

Owners of the new pub venture, 'Spitting Feathers', opened The Brewery Tap on Lower Bridge Street as its first pub in the city back in 2008.

You can find the Crowdfunder here.
