A Chester retirement community is in the running for two national awards.

Community coordinator at The Wyldewoods, Kelly Marks, has been shortlisted for Wellbeing/Activity Coordinator of the Year in the Seniors Housing Awards.

Its onsite restaurant, SAGE, has also been named a finalist in the Restaurant of the Year category.

Located in Chester, The Wyldewoods is designed to offer independent living alongside hospitality, wellbeing and community-focused experiences.

Kelly's nomination recognises her role in helping create a vibrant community for residents, delivering more than 60 activities and events in a year, building over 30 local partnerships and achieving average attendance rates of 87%.

Her work has included intergenerational projects with local schools and community groups, fundraising initiatives and wellbeing programmes designed to help residents build friendships, confidence and connections.

"Her approach reflects exactly what Thrive Living is about, and her contribution has made a meaningful difference to residents, colleagues and the wider community," said RVG's chief operating officer, Thomas Karlsson.

SAGE has also been recognised for bringing a fresh approach to hospitality in later living.

Open to residents, families and the wider public, the restaurant combines seasonal British dining with community events, themed evenings and family-friendly initiatives.

The awards celebrate excellence across the later living sector, with winners due to be announced later this year.
