The face behind The Chester Blog has raised £600 at a charity quiz yesterday evening (23 February), held in aid of the Chester Street Angels.

Street Angels Chester is a church-led initiative.

The group aims to help make Chester city centre a safer place on Friday and Saturday nights.

Sending out teams of trained volunteers to walk the city streets into the early hours, they support those in vulnerable or difficult situations.

Yesterday's event formed the second quiz held at Chester Market by the local blogger, following his September quiz in aid of Alzheimer's Society.

The event was a sell-out, with a total of £600 raised after donations, and all proceeds going to Street Angels.

The voice behind The Chester Blog spoke to Chester Nub News about the event.

He said: "Thank you to everyone that supported the quiz; it was great to bring the Chester community together in aid of such a great cause.

"The Market is a great venue for events like this and I hope to hold another quiz in a few months.

"Special thanks to my helper on the night, Debbie, and also Gavin Matthews of Dee 106.3 radio, for reading out the final scores."
