Chester KFC set to receive makeover
The KFC store on Sealand Road in Chester's Greyhound Park has received approval for various external improvements.
In an application submitted to the council last year, the chain restaurant sought permission to install a new delivery driver entrance door, and to re-spray doors and frames.
Further works included new cladding to be installed around drive thru windows, along with various elements of illuminated and non-illuminated signage erected on the building.
Works were given the go-ahead on January 6, with the case officer citing no concerns with the development.
She said: "Given the existing design of this unit which is contemporary in nature and designed for its functional purpose, the design of what is proposed is considered to comply with policy DM16.
"The unit is located within as existing retail park and the materials and colours proposed would not be detrimental to the character of the wider area.
"It is considered that the design, materials, proportions and colour of the proposed elevational changes would not be detrimental to the character of the building as an entity and the character of the locality."
