Five fire engines sent to tackle blaze at Chester homes

Five fire engines were sent to a fire at a Chester address this morning (28 August), with an investigation now underway.
The fire, which has now been extinguished, was found in the roof space of two semi-detached homes on Elmwood Avenue, Hoole.
It has been confirmed that there were no injuries, with all residents accounted for.
Firefighters have begun stripping back roof tiles to look for any signs of fire spread, with five fire engines still in attendance.
At 10:04am, engines from Chester, Ellesmere Port, Powey Lane and Runcorn were sent to the scene.
Firefighters tackled the fire both from inside the attic and from scaffolding outside using hose reel jets.
With electricity to the affected houses safely isolated, the incident was split into sectors to help manage the response. An aerial ladder platform (ALP) was also set up to assist with firefighting from above.
At 11:15am, a spokesperson for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Crews are working hard to tackle the fire, and it is now under control.
"All residents have been accounted for with no injuries.
"A fire investigation will need to take place."
