Making Tracks - Chester Cathedral - Friday 29 and Saturday 30 August

Set to run until this Saturday (30 August), Chester Cathedral is hosting an exhibition showing a variety of trains from the 1820s to the present day.

A description for the event reads: "It is 200 years since the first intercity train carried passengers, in this year of Railway200, what better way to celebrate than with another year of Making Tracks with Pete Waterman OBE and the Railnuts.

"In honour of Railway200, you will see a variety of trains from the 1820s to the present day. This year's model railway is 72 feet long featuring Watford Junction and it's amazing city scape.

"Come along and see if you can spot all the hidden details and even have a go at driving the trains yourself."

Making Tracks 200 runs until Saturday 30 August, with opening hours Monday to Saturday from 10am – 4pm.

Coffee, Cake and Chat for Marie Curie - Upton British Legion Club - Friday 29 August

Upton British Legion Club is hosting a coffee afternoon to raise funds for Marie Curie this Friday.

A description for the event reads: "Join us for Coffee, Cake & Chat in support of Marie Curie.

"Enjoy a cuppa, a slice of something sweet, and a friendly chat, all while raising funds for a fantastic cause.

"Hosted by the Chester Fundraising Group, every bite helps support Marie Curie's vital work."

After a traditional Sunday Roast with all the trimmings?

This weekend at The Deva Tap, the team will be serving up their famous Sunday Roast - with the option of roast beef, chicken, gammon or nut roast. There is also the option for the full trio of meats.

Served from 12pm, last orders for food is at 4.30pm. You can book via the website, or call them at 01244 959425.

Car Boot Sale - Chester - Sunday 31 August

This Sunday (31 August) the Hospice of the Good Shepherd will host a car boot sale at the Bookers Chester car park on the Dunkirk Estate.

A description for the event reads: "As this is the third year running, we expect many visitors.

"There will be refreshments and toilets available. Get your bags packed, your tables and rails sorted and your change float ready for making money for old rope (really someone will probably need old rope!).

"Entry to the boot sale for buyers is £1."

Rooftop Social Club hosts a weekly quiz every Sunday evening, with a cash prize up for grabs.

A description for the event reads: "The Big Fat Quiz on the Roof is BACK from 7pm – and so is your chance to bag up to £250 cash!

"Think you've got the brains? Round up your team, bring your best trivia skills and we'll see you on the Roof.

"Enjoy great prizes, great food and great drinks. As well as a cash first prize, there's bar tabs, pizza, Prosecco and more up for grabs."
