Chester Hickory's set to reopen in February
Hickory's Smokehouse Chester has temporarily closed for its refurbishment.
Set to open on Wednesday 19 February, the restaurant chain has revealed some of the improvements that guests can expect to see next month.
The team have announced an extension to create a 'river room', 'to make the most of being on the river'.
The restaurant said: "This new extension will be on the river front where the Walled Garden is.
"Taking in views of the river it will be complete with glass sides and a retractable roof for when the sun shines."
There will also be a new cinema room for children, which is set to be bigger than before, with lots of 'comfy cinema seats'.
Alongside these new additions, the main restaurant will get a refresh with new seating and flooring, as well as expanding the chef's bar.
Addressing the temporary closure of the restaurant in a statement, Hickory's Chester said: "To all our neighbours on the River Dee & the good people of Chester - a massive thank you for supporting us for the past 15 years.
"And what a 15 years we've had! We've proudly been smokin' authentic BBQ, shakin' cocktails & meeting so many wonderful guests.
"We have loved every minute & couldn't have done it without you.
"But the time has come to give our smokers a rest & our restaurant some TLC. As your Hickory's will be undergoing a substantial refurbishment.
"We cannot wait to welcome you back when we reopen.
"And, the big news is that we'll be open from 10am every day.
"You asked so we listened. That means pancake stacks, chicken fried waffle, Hickory's muffins - all washed down with a cup of Joe (or a Bloody Mary) 7 days a week from 10am.
"After a walk round the Walls or a stroll through time there's nowhere better than down by the river to enjoy brunch!"
