Mandy Sinclair has been elected as the new chair of Cheshire West and Chester Green Party.

The new chair is taking over from Nick Brown, who has held the position since 2019.

During Nick's tenure, membership for the local party quadrupled over the last 12 months. The party says this growth brings new opportunities, as well as the need for a refreshed leadership team to build on the progress made over recent years.

The new team will focus on strengthening the party's local organisation, engaging with the growing membership and communities across Cheshire West, and preparing for future elections.

"I'm delighted to have been elected Chair at such an important time for the Green Party in Cheshire West," said Mandy Sinclair, chair of Cheshire West Green Party.

"Our membership has grown enormously, and that gives us a fantastic opportunity to build an even stronger local organisation.

"We want to make the most of that enthusiasm by developing our campaigning, supporting our members and making sure the Green Party is ready to contest future elections with energy and ambition.

"I'd also like to thank Nick for his commitment and leadership since 2019. He has overseen a period of remarkable growth for the local party, and we are very grateful for everything he has contributed."

Outgoing chair Nick Brown said it had been "an honour" to represent the party as local chair over the past few years.

He added: "Mandy is the perfect person to take the party forward into the next election cycle. We now have a strong new team in place to continue the development and growth of the party."

The new leadership team will work closely with local Green Party members to develop the party's policies, priorities and campaigning activity ahead of upcoming future elections.
