Chester FC students return from Catalonia adventure

Twenty-two students from Chester FC's football education programme have returned from their career-focused tour experience in Spain
The tour was fully funded by the club's education partner - Access Sport College, through the Turing Scheme.
All studying on elite football scholarship and coaching pathways, the students travelled to the town of Cambrils in Catalonia.
There they had the opportunity to take part in sports, fitness and cultural activities, develop their skills and enhance their future career prospects.
During a trip to Barcelona, students visited the Nou Camp to tour the Barca museum and explored the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium.
The group also attended the Primera Federación between Gimnàstic de Tarragona and Ponferradina at the Nou Estadi Costa Daurada, with the home side running out 5-1 winners, before having free time in the historic city of Tarragona.

They played football and volleyball on the beach, took part in an competitive futsal tournament, hit the driving range for golf lessons with a PGA pro, enjoyed an introduction to padel and stepped into the cage for MMA training.
The students also had the chance to practice their language skills with Spanish lessons.
The Chester FC Football Education Programme is aimed at young people aged 16-18 who want to turn their passion for sport into a career, allowing them to continue their academic studies alongside an elite football or sports coaching and development pathway in a professional, full-time environment.
The two-year course see students work towards a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sports Development & Coaching qualification, combined with the student's chosen pathway for elite football or coaching.
