A new jazz bar offering live music and classic cocktails is set to open in Chester this Friday.

'The Stones' can be found on Kitchen Street next to South African restaurant, The Stixxs, which is under the same ownership.

With a strong focus on live jazz and blues, alongside classic cocktails with a twist, the new bar officially opens this weekend.

A spokesperson for The Stones emphasised how the celebration and enjoyment of jazz has inspired the new venture.

Describing the kind of music guests can expect, they told Nub News: "We want to take you to another dimension of just cool, beautiful jazz.

"This is not just Afro jazz, it's international jazz too.

"We want something that, culturally, will change and help make jazz even better, by having a proper jazz bar that is dedicated to just jazz and blues."

With warm lighting throughout and a unique design, The Stones will offer various bar snacks such as charcuterie, alongside the option for fresh food from The Stixx next door.

The spokesperson added: "The beauty about how we've designed this is that I want you to feel like you could be anywhere in the world, but you're in Chester, under the rail arches, having a great time. 

"Whether it be in the summer, in the winter, it wouldn't matter because you're going to feel warm."

The venue will be open from Thursday to Sunday, suiting a range of customers, such as couples, groups of friends, or those simply looking to listen to some live piano in the middle of the day.
