Chester parade to mark 85th anniversary of the Battle of Britain

The anniversary of the Battle of Britain will be marked in Chester city centre this weekend.
The Battle of Britain was a major air campaign fought over southern England during the summer and autumn of 1940.
A defining moment of world war two, it was the first series of battles in history fought entirely in the air.
To commemorate its 85th anniversary, a uniformed parade will take place on Sunday 14 September, with Merseyside Air Wing cadets marching through the streets of Chester.
They will arrive at Chester Cathedral for the 3pm service, with a military salute taking place after the service.
The Merseyside Air wing cadets will be parading for the first time after receiving freedom of the Cheshire West borough.

- St Werburgh Street (entire length)
- Eastgate Street (from Northgate Street to Foregate Street)
- Foregate Street (from the Eastgate to St John Street)

There will also be no waiting, no loading/unloading and no blue badge parking in place from 10:30am to 5pm on the following roads:
- Northgate Street (from Princess Street to St Werburgh Street)
