Appeal launched following 'horrific' attack in Chester city centre

A man has sustained multiple facial injuries following a "horrific" attack in Chester city centre.
Officers in Chester are appealing for information after a 41-year-old man was attacked in Foregate Street.
At around 2.30am on Sunday 29 March, the man was walking home through the Foregate Street area of Chester city centre when he was attacked by three unknown persons.
As a result of the assault, the victim sustained facial injuries including multiple facial fractures, a broken nose, eye socket and jaw joint.
The incident happened on Foregate Street near to Boots and McDonalds, with the suspects believed to have fled on foot.
Detective Constable Laura Irwin said: "This horrific incident has left the victim considerably shaken and with multiple injuries that will now require hospital treatment.
"From early enquiries, we also believe that there will have been a number of witnesses who saw the assault occur.
"As part of our enquiries into this incident, we are asking anyone with any information or has any useful CCTV or dashcam footage to please contact us.
"I would like to ask that they, or anyone else with further information about the assault, to please get in touch."
