An exciting opportunity has arisen for a driven and commercially minded Specification Manager to join a forward-thinking organisation within the lighting solutions sector. The successful candidate will play a key role in generating new business opportunities, nurturing existing accounts, and managing projects from initial concept through to completion.

The RoleThe Specification Manager will be responsible for creating demand for high-quality lighting solutions by engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, including electrical contractors, consultants, architects, local authorities, and end users. Working closely with distribution partners, the role will focus on influencing specifications and ensuring successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively develop and maintain new business opportunities across the designated region
  • Build and strengthen relationships with contractors, consultants, and key decision-makers
  • Manage projects end-to-end, from initial enquiry through to completion
  • Promote product solutions and secure specifications within a competitive marketplace
  • Ensure all activities align with internal quality standards, ISO procedures, and health & safety requirements
  • Maintain accurate records and deliver a high level of customer service throughout

  • Demonstrates strong sales ability with a proactive and resilient mindset
  • Possesses a good understanding of lighting products and schemes
  • Able to manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, organised, and capable of working independently
  • Professional in appearance and approach, with excellent communication skills
  • Strong geographical awareness of the region and customer base
  • Holds a full UK driving licence

he successful candidate will be required to work 37.5 hours per week, working Monday - Friday, 9AM - 5PM. Temporary cover is required for approximately 3 months. In this position, you will be expected to;- Hold a caseload of up to 14 key clients and conduct regular key working sessions resulting in agreed SMART Support Plans which are reviewed regularly- Complete comprehensive risk and needs assessments- Support all clients to participate in Education, Training, Employment and Volunteering opportunities as appropriate to the development of their skills, assets and aspirations- Deliver one-to one and group support opportunities within the accommodation and in the local community aimed at increasing resilience in the clients we work with- Be flexible, reflective and creative in your engagement with clients and personalised in your support to them- Support clients with move-on and help them progress towards independence- Involve clients in the decisions made about them and encourage participation in the organisations wider community programme of activities- Prepare the accommodation for new clients to move into and support clients to settle in- Send daily occupancy lists to the council- Be responsible for cleaning tasks and domesticated duties within the accommodation- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of clients in the service including using Safeguarding and emergency alert procedures as applicable- Be responsible for the health and safety responsibilities of the building, ensuring regular checks are completedTo apply for this role, you must have;- Experience of working with those experiencing homelessness and an understanding of the needs of people who have experienced homelessness, poor mental health, substance misuse- Experience of holding a caseload, conducting support plans, risk assessments and needs assessments- Effective collaborative working- Knowledge of Health and Safety and a clear understanding of Safeguarding requirements and procedures- High level understanding of professional boundaries and ability to maintain boundaries- The ability to use IT systems including Microsoft Office and databases and good literacy and numeracy skills
