Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients with a wide range of mental health conditions.

  • Carry out comprehensive assessments and develop individual care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Administer medications, monitor patient progress, and review treatment plans to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.

  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with all legal and ethical guidelines.

  • Deliver therapeutic interventions and engage patients in therapeutic activities to enhance recovery.

  • Support and mentor junior staff and nursing students as required.

  • Ensure adherence to all infection control and health and safety guidelines.

  • Provide support to patients and their families, promoting recovery, independence, and well-being.

Key Requirements:

  • Essential:

    • Valid NMC Registration as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN).

    • Minimum of 1 year of post-registration experience in a mental health nursing role.

    • Strong understanding of mental health conditions and evidence-based treatments.

    • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and collaborate effectively.

    • Excellent communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.

    • Ability to manage complex cases and provide holistic care to patients.

    • Understanding of relevant legislation, such as the Mental Health Act and Safeguarding protocols.

  • Desirable:

    • Additional qualifications in mental health or a related field.

    • Previous experience in psychiatric, forensic, or community mental health nursing settings.
