Job Title: Project Engineer - MSP (Cybersecurity Focus) Location: Gloucester Salary: £55,000 per annum + benefits

We're partnering with a rapidly growing Managed Service Provider (MSP) in Gloucester that specialises in cybersecurity, cloud, and IT infrastructure solutions.Cybersecurity is at the heart of everything they do, helping clients protect critical systems, data, and networks from modern threats.

They are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join their team to lead IT and security-focused projects. This is a hands-on role, combining technical delivery with project management, and offering exposure to cutting-edge cybersecurity technologies and initiatives.

Role Overview As a Project Engineer, you will lead and implement IT projects for a diverse client base, with a strong focus on secure infrastructure, risk mitigation, and cybersecurity best practices. You'll work closely with clients, internal teams, and vendors to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, securely, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead IT and cybersecurity-focused projects from initiation to completion, ensuring deadlines, scope, and quality are met.
  • Deploy and configure IT infrastructure, including servers, networking equipment, cloud services, and security solutions.
  • Implement and maintain cybersecurity controls, including firewalls, endpoint protection, VPNs, and monitoring tools.
  • Work with clients to understand business and security requirements, planning project timelines and deliverables.
  • Coordinate internal teams, vendors, and contractors to execute projects effectively.
  • Support Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, Active Directory, and security-focused platforms.
  • Maintain detailed project documentation, including configurations, plans, and post-project reports.
  • Provide escalation support for complex technical and security-related issues.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in IT project delivery or engineering within an MSP environment, ideally with cybersecurity experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft technologies, networking, cloud platforms, and security tools.
  • Hands-on experience implementing and managing cybersecurity solutions.
  • Experience managing IT projects and coordinating multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and risk assessment skills.
  • Strong communication skills, able to explain technical and security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently.
