Public Meeting: Which Way forward for Trade Unions
Garrett Theatre & Bar
11 Sep 2025
Thursday 11 September

Given the current turmoil in the world of politics and the knock-on implications for trade unionists, West Cheshire Trades Union Council is holding an Open / Public Meeting aimed at drawing ordinary trade union members and potential members into the conversation about the way forward for trade unionists.
- The Rise of Reform UK
- The unpopularity of the Labour leadership - with many members leaving the Party
- The growing number of Left Community Independent councillors and independent MPs
- The prospect of a new Corbyn-Sultana led Party
- The rise in industrial action by non-TUC affiliated unions
- The steadily growing impact of the Green Party
We have invited a small panel of speakers to introduce the discussion from various angles and to respond to questions. These include a member of the Green Party, a supporter of Jeremy Corby / Zara Sultana's "Your Party" and a speaker from "Labour Unions North West".
Meeting Details: 7.30 pm Thursday 11th September, at The Garrett Theatre & Bar in Storyhouse, Chester. The meeting will start at 7.30 pm but the bar area is available for socialising from 6.30 pm. This is also an opportunity for unions, parties and groups to set out some of their information leaflets, etc..
