We tried Cosy Club Chester’s new summer menu - here’s what stood out
Chester Nub News was recently invited to sample the new summer menu at Cosy Club Chester, featuring a selection of seasonal dishes and an expanded margarita menu.
To begin, we tried the new spicy pear margarita - a genuinely delicious blend of tequila, pear purée, fresh lime juice and green chilli. Fruity and light, the cocktail carries just enough heat from the chilli to balance the pear beautifully.
We then opted for a selection of small plates. First to arrive was the black pepper and lemon smoked salmon, served on rye bread with honey-whipped ricotta and a soft herb salad. Wonderfully light and fresh, the creamy ricotta perfectly complemented the rich, salty smoked salmon.
Alongside the salmon, we also sampled the Asian buttermilk fried chicken, coated in a sticky soy, ginger, sesame and chilli glaze. This quickly became a favourite at the table, with the slightly sweet glaze delivering a rich depth of flavour without overpowering the crispy chicken.
The unexpected standout, however, was the sharing monkey bread - an incredibly soft, airy bread enriched with Cornish clotted cream and finished with a miso glaze. Created exclusively for Cosy Club by Baker Tom in Cornwall, the warm, cloud-like bread was utterly delicious.

Another highlight was the halloumi with hot honey, served alongside mizuna and pickled onion salad. The dish balanced sweet and savoury flavours well, with subtle bursts of spice from the hot honey.
To finish, we sampled the coconut and lime panna cotta with fresh mango, mint and coconut biscuit crumb, alongside the brûléed miso caramel custard tart served with vanilla pod ice cream and shortbread crumb.
For those preferring a lighter dessert, the panna cotta is an excellent choice - refreshing, balanced and complemented nicely by the mango and biscuit crumb.
However, the miso caramel custard tart was the clear standout. With its buttery, crumbly base and rich, decadent filling, it paired perfectly with the vanilla pod ice cream. Our only criticism was that the portion could have benefited from a little more ice cream
Overall, it was a thoroughly enjoyable visit, helped by exceptionally warm customer service, stylish modern interiors, and - depending on where you are seated - an excellent vantage point overlooking Northgate Street.
The new summer menu is now available at Cosy Club Chester. You can find out more or book a visit here.
