Cheshire Police issue statement on the death of RuPaul's Drag Race star The Vivienne
RuPaul's Drag Race star, The Vivienne, was found dead at a rural address on the outskirts of Chester on Sunday (January 5).
Cheshire Police has now confirmed there are no suspicious circumstances.
With tributes coming from all over the entertainment industry, the 32-year-old's death has come as shock to many.
James Lee Williams, better known as drag queen, The Vivienne, won the first series of RuPaul's Drag Race UK in 2019.
It has been confirmed that officers attended the performer's address following reports of a sudden death.
Cheshire Constabulary released a statement which said: "At 12.22pm on Sunday 5 January police were called to an address on Little Rake Lane in Chorlton-by-Backford following reports of a sudden death.
"Police attended, investigated the circumstances of the death of the 32-year-old man and concluded there were no suspicious circumstances.
"A file will be prepared for the coroner."
The Vivienne was born in North Wales and later moved to Liverpool.
The death was announced by their publicist, Simon Jones, on Sunday evening in a statement posted on Instagram.
Mr Jones said that the performer was 'incredibly loved, warm-hearted and amazing person'.
In an X post, RuPaul's Drag Race said: "She will be dearly missed, but her legacy will live on as a beacon of creativity and authenticity - she embodied what it means to be a true champion.
"Our hearts go out to her family and fans during this difficult time."
James Williams was born in Wales, and adopted the drag name because of a love for wearing Vivienne Westwood clothing.
Rydal Penrhos school in Colwyn Bay, where they were a former pupil, said it was 'deeply shocked and saddened' by the star's death.
"The Vivienne's successful career as a performer and artist proved a source of inspiration and joy to so many", the school said in a statement.
