Three men charged following series of cross border thefts

Detectives investigating a series of thefts from trade vehicles across Cheshire and Manchester have charged three men in relation to the incidents.

The theft charges relate to 20 thefts from trade vehicles in Chester, Northwich, Winsford, Tarporley and Leigh (Greater Manchester).

Each occurred between Wednesday 28 May and Wednesday 9 July 2025.

Thomas Stokes, Edward Stokes and Christopher Stokes were all arrested on Wednesday 9 July, following an investigation by Northwich Proactive CID.

The trio have since been charged with conspiracy to commit theft from motor vehicles and handling stolen goods.

Thomas, 29, of Scott Street, Leigh, Edward, 26, of Oxford Street, Leigh, and Christopher, 19, of no fixed abode, Ellesmere Port, have all been remanded in custody.

All three are set to appear at Chester Magistrates Court on Friday 11 July.
