In two weeks time, Storyhouse will premiere a brand new British musical in Chester.

Adapted by comedian and author, David Baddiel, the musical will receive its world premiere on Saturday 15 February 2025.

'The Parent Agency – The Musical', directed by Tim Jackson, will play for two weeks until Sunday 2 March 2025, before a planned national tour and London-run.

The play follows an eleven-year-old Barry, who makes a wish for better parents and is whisked away to an alternate universe, 'where kids get to pick out their perfect parents'.

Storyhouse have released a statement, outlining the significance of the play making its debut in Chester.

It said: "You might not know this, but before Matilda the Musical became a global phenomenon, it began its life in Stratford upon Avon.

"Now, Storyhouse is doing the same for The Parent Agency – premiering it here before it heads to the West End and embarks on a worldwide tour.

"This is a huge moment for Storyhouse and for our city.
