A Chester dementia specialist home care service has been named among the UK's top 20 home care groups for the ninth year running.

Belong at Home Chester is the UK's only not-for-profit provider to have achieved the accolade every year for the past nine years.

The rankings are based solely on independent reviews on homecare.co.uk, often described as the 'Tripadvisor of home care', with service users and their families rating Belong at Home teams across the North West and West Midlands.

Its specially trained carers help older people remain independent in their own homes, providing personal care, domestic support and help with everyday errands.

Core to its approach is person-centred care, enabling customers to enjoy later life by supporting their hobbies and interests, arranging outings and encouraging them to try new experiences.

Customers can also use the facilities at Belong Chester, including its bistro, salon, specialist gym and entertainment venue, and take part in its activities programme.

One customer's daughter said: "The team treat Dad like one of their own, and the care has adapted beautifully as his illness has progressed (he was recently diagnosed with mixed dementia).

"Most importantly, Dad really enjoys their company. They always take the time to chat with him and even play his favourite music during visits, which makes such a difference."

Another reviewer said: "The service provided was of the highest standard and very professional, but the carers were also very friendly and very empathetic towards Mum, which was greatly appreciated."

The recognition comes as the organisation welcomes new customers to its award-winning home care service and continues to recruit new carers.
