Cabin crew course launched to meet aviation demand
Cheshire College South & West has launched a new cabin crew course, designed specifically for adults 19 and over who are eager to enter the aviation industry.
The course comes in response to the rising demand from airlines for skilled, customer-focused professionals with life experience.
Targeted at career changers and individuals returning to the workforce, the program offers an opportunity to start a rewarding new career path.
Key areas of training include emergency procedures, cabin safety, passenger service, onboard sales and first aid.
Students will also participate in practical, hands-on assessments, including simulated aircraft cabin exercises on campus and pool-based lifesaving drills.
The initiative comes at a crucial time when airlines are making a concerted effort to attract older workers into the industry.
EasyJet's successful recruitment campaign has led to a significant rise in cabin crew hires aged 50 and over, challenging the traditional notion that cabin crew roles are best suited to younger candidates.
Sarah Broady, lecturer in travel and tourism at Cheshire College, commented: "As a Lecturer with first hand Cabin Crew experience, I'm excited to see this course offer adults a fresh opportunity to join the aviation industry.
"With the growing demand for experienced, customer-focused professionals, this program is designed to equip students with the skills needed to thrive as cabin crew.
"It's a fantastic opportunity for individuals to start a rewarding new chapter in their careers, and we're here to guide them towards success."
There are a number of funding options available to make returning to study affordable, with eligible adults able to study for free.
Graduates of the course will be prepared to take on roles in cabin crew, opening the door to a fulfilling career in aviation.
Cheshire College is committed to meeting both industry demand and the aspirations of adults looking to make a career change.
By providing practical training and valuable industry connections, the college is empowering students to enter the aviation sector with confidence.
