Books on the Walls will host Charlotte Pickering for its latest author event this Friday evening, taking place from 6-7.30pm.

A description for the event reads: "Kittel: Doktor Faustus of the Third Reich is the true story of Gerhard Kittel, the renowned German theologian who sold his soul to Hitler's loathsome cause.

"Chilling and timely, this audacious reimagining of the Faust legend illustrates how very easily the public sphere can become contaminated to the point where civility collapses altogether.

"Chester-born actor and musician John Henry is to star as Gerhard Kittel in the play which is directed by his brother, Christleton High School alumnus Jed Birch. Chester actor Mayuri Kitukale will play Zeller, Gerhard Kittel's lawyer."

Suitcase Theatre presents a modern adaptation of 'Medea' this weekend (Nub News)

Suitcase Theatre presents a modern adaptation of 'Medea' this weekend at St Marys Creative Space.

A description reads: "First performed in 431 BC, Medea is one of Euripides' most enduring tragedies, a cornerstone of ancient Greek theatre that still grips audiences today.

"It tells the story of Medea, a woman of extraordinary intelligence and passion, who finds herself betrayed by her husband Jason in his pursuit of power. The play shocked its original Athenian audience with its daring exploration of love, revenge, and the extremes of human emotion.

"Fierce, haunting, and timeless, Medea continues to challenge and captivate, asking us to confront uncomfortable truths about loyalty, justice, and the power of rage."
