Luke Jerram's Museum of the Moon - Chester Cathedral

Chester Cathedral has unveiled its latest installation, which will be open to visitors this weekend.
Artist Luke Jerram's moon sculpture is complete with a surround sound composition created by BAFTA and Ivor Novello award-winning composer Dan Jones.
Measuring six metres in diameter, the moon features 120dpi detailed NASA imagery of the lunar surface. At an approximate scale of 1:500,000, each centimetre of the internally lit spherical sculpture represents 5km of the moon's surface.
'Museum of the Moon' will run at Chester Cathedral from Thursday 12 February to Sunday 15 March 2026.

Chester Food and Craft Festival - Carriage Shed - Saturday 14 February

The Carriage Shed will host a monthly food and craft festival this Saturday.
A description for the event reads: "Join us for a fantastic day out at Carriage Shed, from 11:00am to 5:00pm. Entry is FREE and the event is dog friendly!
"Enjoy a vibrant mix of artisan shopping, delicious street food, live local music and a family friendly, relaxed atmosphere as we celebrate some of the North West's most talented independent makers.
"Brought to you by The Trader Markets, this monthly festival features an exciting range of stalls – from handcrafted homeware and unique gifts to beautiful jewellery, artwork, and more."
Chester Amphitheatre: An 8000 year story - Grosvenor Museum - Saturday 14 February

The Grosvenor Museum will unveil its latest exhibition this Saturday, detailing the story of one of Chester's most significant archaeological sites.
A description reads: "Find out what was there before the Romans built the largest amphitheatre in Britain, what new information was revealed about the amphitheatre and what happened in the centuries after the Romans left.
"This exhibition displays discoveries made by the major research excavations at Chester Amphitheatre in 2004 – 2006, a partnership between English Heritage and the then Chester City Council."
Author event - Books on the Walls – Saturday 14 February

During this free event at Books on the Walls, Dr Nikki Kiyimba will give a special author talk on Trauma-Informed Mindfulness: A Practitioner's Guide for One-to-One Work.
Drawing on her clinical experience and work in psychological trauma, Dr Kiyimba will discuss safer, one-to-one mindfulness approaches designed to support those affected by trauma and PTSD.
A description reads: "This approach is about introducing mindfulness gently and safely, creating space for healing in a way that truly honours each person's experience."
The event will run from 2–2.30pm, with no booking required.
The Six Nations showing at the Deva Tap

Rugby fans are in for a treat this weekend as the Six Nations Championship continues - with all the action shown live at the Deva Tap.
Alongside the rugby, Premier League football will also be screened across five big screens throughout the pub.
During all live matches, you can also take advantage of five bottles of Brooklyn or Poretti lager for £15. Food is served from 12–8pm on Saturday and 12–4pm for Sunday lunch, making it an ideal spot to make a day of it.
The Deva Tap is also available for private hire and functions, with upcoming celebrations and events already being booked in.
