There are lots of events going on in and around Chester this weekend. You can find a small selection of some of the things to do below.
'Living Well in the 21st Century' lecture - Chester Cathedral - Saturday 31 January

This weekend Chester Cathedral will kick off a series of interactive discussions, inspired by the history and heritage of the rule of St Benedict and exploring how lessons from the past can influence and improve the way we live today.
A description reads: "This series will start with an exploration of the heritage of monastic Chester, in and around the Cathedral and 30 St Werburgh Street.
"Participants will explore how to be more grounded in daily life, more in tune with the environment, our community and within ourselves.
"Sessions include tea, coffee, and pastries. Full-time students can redeem a concession rate by calling our Box Office."

Chester Ghost Tour - Meeting outside Chester Visitor Information Centre - Saturday 31 January

There will be a Chester Ghost Tour this Saturday evening, exploring Chester's darker history.
A description reads: "Our ghost tour guides will take you on a night-time journey around the eerie haunts of Chester's mysterious and murky past, where you will hear spine-chilling tales of ghosts, ghouls and things that go bump in the night.
"Join your Chester Ghost Tour guide at 7.30pm outside the Town Hall Visitor Information Centre on Northgate Street to begin your eerie journey through Chester's haunted history.
"Chester Ghost Tour Tickets can be purchased online or at the Town Hall Visitor Information Centre on Northgate Street."

Record Fair - Sunday 1 February – Storyhouse

Storyhouse's first record fair of the year kicks off this Sunday.
A description for the event reads: "We're back at Storyhouse in Chester for our first record fair of 2026 with a full house of quality record traders
"From 10am-4pm join us in Storyhouse's bustling The Kitchen for a Record Fair and explore a treasure trove of records from Grey + Pink Records and a host of local vinyl vendors.
"Celebrate vinyl and discover your next hidden gem."
Big Fat Quiz On The Roof - Rooftop Social Club - Sunday 1 February

Rooftop Social Club hosts a weekly quiz every Sunday evening, with a cash prize up for grabs.
A description for the event reads: "The Big Fat Quiz on the Roof is BACK from 7pm – and so is your chance to bag up to £250 cash!
"Think you've got the brains? Round up your team, bring your best trivia skills and we'll see you on the Roof.
