The Deva Tap is hosting its open mic night this Thursday evening, kicking off at 7.30pm at the Brook Street pub.

For those simply looking to enjoy an evening of live music, food will be served from until 8:30pm with a wide range of specialist beers from independent breweries also on offer.

Budding musicians are encouraged to take part, with a free drink for every performer. Professional sound equipment is also provided, with the Deva Tap providing the amp, speakers and mics.

The Deva Tap prides itself on offering a variety of gluten-free and vegan options, as well as being a dog-friendly venue.

The Grosvenor Museum's latest exhibition details the story of one of Chester's most significant archaeological sites.

A description reads: "Find out what was there before the Romans built the largest amphitheatre in Britain, what new information was revealed about the amphitheatre and what happened in the centuries after the Romans left.

"This exhibition displays discoveries made by the major research excavations at Chester Amphitheatre in 2004 – 2006, a partnership between English Heritage and the then Chester City Council."

A new monthly antiques and collectors fair will take place this Sunday at Cheshire County Sports Club.

Taking place on Sunday 5 April from 10am until 3pm, the fair will feature 80 tables showcasing vintage jewellery, antique furniture and décor, collectable ceramics and glass, coins, medals, militaria, retro toys, books, postcards, and more.

Free parking and refreshments will be available on site.

A description for the event reads: "Discover hidden treasures, rare finds, and timeless pieces - whether you're a seasoned collector or just looking for something unique, there's something for everyone."

Entry is £2.50 (under 16s free), and stall bookings can be made here.
