Live folk music gig - St Mary's Creative Space - Saturday 3 October

St Mary's Creative Space will host Andy Irvine and Swedish folk group Quilty this Saturday evening.
Kicking off at 7.30pm, the concert will bring together Irish and Swedish traditional music, with Irvine and Quilty performing a collaborative programme featuring songs and tunes from both cultures.
Irvine's career spans more than 55 years, including performances with Sweeney's Men, Planxty and Patrick Street, while Quilty are recognised as leading interpreters of Irish folk music in Scandinavia.
The evening's special guest is Scottish folk multi-instrumentalist Caitlin Gilligan.
Tickets are available from Grey n Pink Records or can be bought online here.
Makers Market - Exchange Square and Town Hall Square - Saturday 3 October

Chester's Maker Market returns this Saturday with a wide range of independent bakers, creators and artisan producers.
Taking place from 10am to 4pm, the market will be held across Exchange Square and Town Hall Square.
Visitors can browse a range of stalls from artisan makers, bakers, food producers and independent traders, alongside street food and live music throughout the day.
The market is family and dog friendly, with organisers encouraging visitors to shop local and support independent businesses.
'The Worst Record Covers in the World' - Grosvenor Museum

The Grosvenor Museum is currently hosting an award-winning exhibition celebrating the world's most awful record covers.
Held in gallery two, the temporary exhibition is a collection of "dreadful" record sleeves that makes people "giggle, guffaw and double up laughing everywhere it goes".
Running until early next year, visitors can explore Steve Goldman's extensive range of "unintentionally funny" record covers, vote for their three favourites, and listen to some tracks from the albums.
Since the exhibition began touring the country in 2021, it has featured on BBC's Have I Got News For You, BBC Radio 4's Front Row, BBC Breakfast, The Guardian, Metro and the "i" newspaper.
Grosvenor Museum is open Tuesday to Saturday, from 10.30am to 5pm, and Sunday from 1pm to 4pm. Entry is free but donations are welcome.
'The Worst Record Covers in the World' runs until January 17.
