'The Boy Who Kicked Pigs' - Chester Little Theatre - Until Saturday 17 October

Chester Little Theatre will stage a production of The Boy Who Kicked Pigs this weekend.
The grotesque gothic fable tells the story of Robert Caligari, a malevolent young boy who begins a chain of catastrophes after he kicks his sister's piggybank, Trevor, out the window.
A description for the show reads: "Having developed a taste for blood, Robert sets about becoming the mass murderer he has always dreamed of being, egged on by the newly talking Trevor.
"Meanwhile, in the mind-numbingly boring offices of local paper The Kent Clarion, Philip Bottering wishes for something, anything, to report on – preferably a juicy disaster.
"The Boy Who Kicked Pigs is a multi-rolling thrill ride, featuring music, projections and fifty horrid and hilarious characters."
The show will run from Thursday 15 to Saturday 17 October, starting at 7.30pm each evening. You can find tickets and more here.
Gig with Barney Lines-Hembrey - Books on the Walls - Saturday 17 October

Books on the Walls will host a free live gig this weekend, featuring fingerstyle guitarist Barney Lines-Hembrey.
His original music takes inspiration from the quiet and storied county he grew up in, utilising its rural folklore and mythical landscapes to build stories through his lyrics.
He draws from legends of folk music such as Nick Drake, Jackson C. Frank, Bob Dylan and Dick Gaughan as well as the traditional folk songs of Dorset. Barney is currently working on his debut EP, due to be released later this year.
The books on the walls bar and barista service will be in operation for the duration of the event.
Free tickets can be booked here.
'The Worst Record Covers in the World' - Grosvenor Museum

The Grosvenor Museum is currently hosting an award-winning exhibition celebrating the world's most awful record covers.
Held in gallery two, the temporary exhibition is a collection of "dreadful" record sleeves that makes people "giggle, guffaw and double up laughing everywhere it goes".
Running until early next year, visitors can explore Steve Goldman's extensive range of "unintentionally funny" record covers, vote for their three favourites, and listen to some tracks from the albums.
Since the exhibition began touring the country in 2021, it has featured on BBC's Have I Got News For You, BBC Radio 4's Front Row, BBC Breakfast, The Guardian, Metro and the "i" newspaper.
Grosvenor Museum is open Tuesday to Saturday, from 10.30am to 5pm, and Sunday from 1pm to 4pm. Entry is free but donations are welcome.
