Community BBQ - Hoole Community Centre - Saturday 25 July

Hoole Community Centre will host its annual community BBQ this weekend.

Taking place on Saturday 25 July from 3pm to 9pm, attendees can expect an afternoon of live music, local food and family entertainment.

Visitors can enjoy a range of activities including carnival games, inflatables, a petting zoo, face painting, hair braiding, a raffle and tombola, alongside a BBQ using locally sourced produce and a licensed bar serving cocktails and alcoholic slushies.

As an independent charity, Hoole Community Centre relies on fundraising events like the annual BBQ to support its work and continue providing activities and services for local people.

Wirral Vikings will bring living history to Chester Cathedral this weekend.

Taking place in the cathedral cloisters from 10am to 4pm, the event will showcase Viking crafts, skills and traditions through a range of demonstrations.

Visitors can discover traditional crafts including bone carving, woodworking, herb lore and textile working, offering an insight into everyday life more than 1,000 years ago.

With a focus on historical accuracy and detailed research, the group aims to inspire the next generation of archaeologists and historians through immersive displays and demonstrations.

This weekend, Grosvenor Park Open Air Theatre will showcase two productions, both running until Sunday 23 August.

Featuring sword fights, romance and a folk soundtrack, Outlaws: A Robin Hood Story is a new take on the Robin Hood legend, following Robin and Little John as they steal from corrupt King John and return his stolen riches to the people.

Also showing is Let the Sun Shine!, a feel-good musical set in the summer of 1969. Packed with live music and dancing, it follows Harry as a colourful music festival transforms his quiet village and inspires him to follow his dreams.

The festival site will also feature a tepee bar and an expanded food and drink offering, including craft beers and frozen cocktails.

Swipe Vintage will bring its vintage kilo sale to Eastgate Square this weekend.

Taking place on Sunday 26 July, visitors can browse a curated selection of quality vintage clothing and top brands, with items priced at £20 per kilo.

Each piece is hand-graded by the Swipe Vintage team, with many items washed and prepared ahead of the event. Shoppers can fill a clear bag with their chosen finds before having their items weighed and priced.

The event will also feature special price caps on selected heavier items, including leather jackets and winter coats, while shoes will be available for £5 per pair.
