Sunday Roast - The Deva Tap - Sunday 20 July

After a traditional Sunday Roast with all the trimmings?

This weekend at The Deva Tap, you can get two roasts and two drinks for just £35. The team will be serving up their famous Sunday Roast - with the option of roast beef, chicken, gammon or nut roast.

There's also the option for the full trio of meats.

Served from 12 noon, last orders for food is at 4.30pm. You can book via the website, or call them at 01244 959425

Returning to the River Dee this weekend is the annual Chester Raft Race, featuring free live entertainment, food trucks, a raffle and beer tent.

Kicking off at 10am, prizes are awarded for the best interpretation of the raft theme, as well as prizes for the fastest times down the river.

A description for the event reads: "Rafts are built by the entrants and decorated to a set theme, which changes every year.

"Teams race from the start line at Chester Meadows, down the River Dee, under the suspension bridge, past the bandstand and finish just above the weir.

"Teams then paddle their creations back to the start point and savour completing the event.

"Awards are handed out for a variety of categories, and there's an event village on the meadows with entertainment, food, drinks and a great atmosphere all day."

Spitting Feathers Beer Festival - Saturday 19 July

Returning for another year, Spitting Feathers' Brewery Beer Festival will take place this Saturday 19 July.

In previous years, the festival has raised money for Local and national causes and so far has donated over £25,000.

A description for the event reads: "Our beer festival has become a July tradition here at Spitting Feathers, and for good reason.

"We've got a fantastic venue at our Brewery Headquarters in Waverton, Chester, and we pull out all the stops to get the best local bands and entertainers to keep the party going.

"We've also got all the classic festival fare covered: pulled pork baps, veggie burgers, juicy spare ribs, and the best beef burgers in town from David Joinson Butchers.

"It's a great way to enjoy some delicious beers, have a fun day out, and support some worthy causes all at the same time."

Latin Mania outdoor meet up - Exchange Square - 20th July

Chester SBK & Latin Mania is hosting a free dance meet up just outside Exchange Square this Sunday, from 1pm until 8pm.

A description for the event reads: "We would love to see as many dancers in the Square as possible, for this completely free not-for-profit-event.

"It is just something fun for our dance community and anyone else who would like to join.

"Our music mix will be a spicy blend of Salsa, Bachata, and Kizomba along with their funky cousins like Cha Cha Cha, Merengue, Urban Kiz, Bachata Dominican, Bachata Sensual, Tarraxo, Semba, and more.

"Feel free to throw in your song requests on the day - this shindig is all about chilling out and having a blast together.

"We can't wait to see you all, let's show Chester how amazing our community is." 

The HandCrafted Market - Saturday 19 July - Grosvenor Shopping Centre

The market will take place in the Grosvenor Shopping Centre (Nub News)

This Saturday inside the Grosvenor Shopping Centre, shoppers can explore a range of handmade products including jewellery, ceramics and textiles.

The market runs from 10am to 5pm and celebrates the artistry and creativity of crafters from across the North West region.

A description for the event reads: "This market serves as a platform for skilled artisans to showcase their unique and handcrafted creations to a wide audience.

"It attracts visitors from near and far who are passionate about supporting local craftsmanship and discovering one-of-a-kind pieces.

"Each item is meticulously crafted with a personal touch reflecting the individual style and artistic flair of the artisans.

"Shoppers can learn about the creative processes behind the products hear inspiring stories and even commission custom-made pieces."
