Chester's Twelve Days of Christmas parade - Thursday 20 November

Chester's Twelve Days of Christmas parade is taking place this Thursday evening (20 November) at 7pm.
Community groups and local artists will parade through the city centre from Bridge Street, travelling towards the Cross, Eastgate Street, St Werburgh Street, past the Town Hall and ending on Watergate Street.
Father Christmas will also join the parade, greeting the audience along the way.
Sponsored by Chester BID, the parade is the start of multiple festive events lined up for the city. Also returning to the city this year is the Lantern Parade, Winter Watch Parade and the Roman Saturnalia Parade.
The Filthy Chester Tour - Friday 21 November - Meeting outside Chester Visitor Information Centre

Live History will host its 'Filthy Chester Tour' this Friday evening, meeting outside Chester Visitor Information Centre (where you can buy tickets).
A description for the event reads: "Hear about historical court cases that would make people blush, consider how certain lost buildings played host to disasters - or learn Shakespearean slang that will get you laid.
"This is a tour for those with a dark sense of humour, who relish uncomfortably taboo tales of a more 'adult nature' - grotesque, sexy and obscene language, complete with images of lost local buildings and a bag of naughty replicas.
"Not suitable for those with a sensitive disposition due to taboo stories and contextual swearing. Strictly 18 years and over."
Tickets can also be pre-booked online here.
Exclusive free preview screening - Grosvenor Museum - Saturday 22 November

This Saturday morning, the Grosvenor Museum is hosting an exclusive preview of BBC's Civilisations: Rise and Fall ahead of its official release.
A description for the event reads: "Join us at the Grosvenor Museum for an exclusive preview of the BBC's brand new series before it hits your TV screens!
"We're screening Civilisations: The Fall of Rome - watch as the mighty Roman Empire crumbles, from Emperor Honorius taking power in 395 AD to Rome falling to invaders for the first time in 800 years.
"This BBC Studios series (made with the British Museum) features historians you'll recognise: Dominic Sandbrook (The Rest is History), Alastair Campbell (The Rest is Politics), and Iszi Lawrence (Making History on Radio 4).
"FREE entry, Drop-in - just turn up! Approx. 1 hour. Please arrive promptly for 11am start
"Before or after, visit our Roman Medicine Roadshow bringing the gruseome side to history to life in our Gladiators of Britain exhibition. Discover what injuries gladiators suffered and how a Roman Medicus would treat them."
Chester Ghost Tour - Saturday 22 November - Meet outside the Town Hall Visitor Information Centre

A description for the event reads: "Our ghost tour guides will take you on a night-time journey around the eerie haunts of Chester's mysterious and murky past, where you will hear spine-chilling tales of ghosts, ghouls and things that go bump in the night.
"Join your Chester Ghost Tour guide at 7.30pm outside the Town Hall Visitor Information Centre on Northgate Street (location map) to begin your eerie journey through Chester's haunted history.
"Our Ghost Tours are approximately 90 minutes long. Please book in advance where possible as our tours can be extremely popular and fill up."
