12 hour 'danceathon' - Poise Studio - Saturday 25 October

Poise is a dedicated adult dance studio that blends both the dance and fitness world (Nub News)

This Saturday, Poise studio is hosting a 12 hour danceathon from 9am - 9pm to raise money breast cancer awareness month.

A description for the event reads: "We are all so excited to help raise money but most importantly bring awareness to breast cancer and spotting the signs early.

"There will be non stop dancing to a range of fun uplifting music (helping us create a mega playlist in the bio). Think glow sticks and kitchen dancing!

"People are encouraged to share our just giving link with family and friends to gain 'sponsorship'. You can contribute in other ways, by supplying cakes for our bake sale or simply donating directly to our Justgiving link in our bio. Every little bit helps

"PS get checking your tatas. That includes men too."

Hoole Community Centre is hosting its second annual barn dance this weekend.

A description for the event reads: "Dust off your dancing boots and join us for an unforgettable evening of music, laughter, and good old-fashioned fun.

"This year, we're thrilled to welcome back the fabulous Time Bandits, a sensational band guaranteed to get you swinging and stomping all night long. Whether you're a seasoned dancer or a total beginner, our friendly caller will guide you through every step so everyone can join in the fun!

"We'll have a fully stocked bar, with both alcoholic and non alcoholic offerings plus some delicious food available to purchase including roast pork and apple baps (veggie/vegan and GF option available on request)

"Bring your friends, family and plenty of energy for an evening filled with great tunes, questionable dancing and brilliant fun!"

The Grosvenor Museum is currently hosting a free exhibition from the British Museum all about the brutal history of gladiators.

A description for the event reads: "Step into the arena where gladiators once fought and died to thunderous crowds.

"This major touring exhibition brings together rare Roman artefacts that reveal the brutal spectacle of gladiatorial combat in ancient Britain – including extraordinary finds from Chester's own amphitheatre, the largest in the country.

"From the enslaved fighters who became unlikely celebrities to the vendors selling food to eager crowds, Gladiators of Britain reveals the human stories behind the helmets."

Vegan Market - Town Hall Square - Sunday 26 October

The Chester Vegan Market returns to Town Hall Square this weekend from 10:30am to 4pm.

A description for the event reads: "As usual, the event will bring together an incredible selection of vegan street food vendors, artisan bakers, ethical jewellers, local artists, environmental charities + loads more.

"The Chester Vegan Market takes over the Town Hall Square, right in the heart of the city and opposite the spectacular cathedral, on just three days each year.

"The event brings together up to 25 stalls including an incredible selection of vegan street food vendors, artisan bakers, ethical jewellers, local artists, environmental charities and more."

Sundays at The Deva Tap

The pub is known for stocking specialist beers from independent breweries (Nub News)

Tucked away on Brook Street, The Deva Tap offers fresh food and unique beers.

As part of its winter offer, if you book a table between 12pm and 2pm this Sunday, you can get two regular roasts for just £22.

For those booking between 12pm and 4pm, you can get any two roasts and a cauliflower cheese side for just £29.95 for pre-booked tables only.

Guests are advised to book your tables to avoid disappointment.

From Wednesday to Friday each week, until 6pm, you can also get any two dishes, burgers or classics with a bottle of wine for £39.95. There is also 10% off from Wednesday to Friday until 6pm stays and is also applicable to the pizza offer.
