Public Meeting - Storyhouse - Thursday 11 September

West Cheshire Trades Union Council is holding an open meeting this Thursday.

A description for the event reads: "We have invited a small panel of speakers to introduce the discussion from various angles and to respond to questions. These include a member of the Green Party, a supporter of Jeremy Corby / Zara Sultana's Your Party and a speaker from Labour Unions North West.

"We will meet at 7.30 pm Thursday 11 September at The Garrett Theatre & Bar in Storyhouse, Chester. 

"The meeting will start at 7.30 pm but the bar area is available for socialising from 6.30 pm. This is also an opportunity for unions, parties and groups to set out some of their information leaflets, etc."

This Sunday there will be a market selling local produce and artisan food from 10am - 4pm on Exchange Square, Chester.

Childless seeks to create space for honest and empowering conversations (Nub News)

Childless seeks to create space for honest and empowering conversations about living without children - allowing attendees to build community, share stories and make connections. 

The weekend is for all adults without children. Friends and family who want to find out how they can support the 'non-parents' in their families and communities are also welcome.

Attendees will experience powerful panel discussions, music, creative workshops and performances.

Storyhouse Childless runs from 12 – 14 September.

Soldiers and Citizens: 900 years of Chester Castle's history - Saturday 13 September

On Friday 13 and Saturday 14 September, guests can learn all about Chester Castle's 900 year history in a day full of interactive events.

Taking place on Grosvenor Street from 10am-3pm on both days, you can expect demonstrations, re-enactment, 'hands on history', a jail cell bookshop and historic crafts.

The event is free entry for all.

The description reads: "Held at the stunning Chester Zoo Nature Reserve, this event is perfect for families, wildlife enthusiasts and anyone passionate about connecting with nature.

"Nature Fest is all about connecting with the wildlife on our doorstep and learning how small actions can have a big impact on the world around us.

"Whether you're a family looking to spend quality time together or an individual passionate about conservation, there's something for everyone at this year's event."
