This morning (Wednesday 15 January) there were reports of issues with some resident's water supply.

People reported having no supply, low pressure and discoloured water across parts of Chester.

Severn Trent have announced that Chester residents should now be back on supply, citing the water treatment works in Boughton as the site of the disruption.

A spokesperson said: "We are really sorry to customers in Chester who experienced water supply issues this morning.

"There was an issue with one of our pumps at our water treatment works in Boughton which has now been fixed and everyone should be back on supply.

"The discolouration of water is a result of harmless natural deposits that build up at the bottom of water pipes over time and are disturbed when there's a change of flow in the water pipe.

"While it may look a bit unpleasant, it's nothing to worry about and should clear when taps are run for a couple of minutes."

Seven Trent has confirmed it is investigating the cause of the incident.
