The Açai Grove is set to open a second site in Chester.

Co-owner Connie Kidd, 24, opened the business on Lower Bridge Street in April 2025, specialising in açai bowls, smoothies and matcha.

She is now gearing up to open a new venue at 4 Music Hall Passage, the former home of French restaurant Chez Francois.

Connie has teased that the larger site will offer more seating, alongside fresh juices, "soft serve acai" and frozen yoghurt. An opening date has not yet been announced.

Açai, pronounced "ah-sigh-ee", is a berry native to the Amazon region of South America, particularly Brazil.

It is commonly used in frozen smoothie bowls and is known for its deep purple colour and antioxidant content.

Chez Francois closed its doors in late April last year.
