Public consultation opens for 450-home Mollington development
By Dherran Titherington 7th Oct 2026
The first stage of plans are being prepared for up to 450 new homes on land south of Parkgate Road.
Taylor Wimpey is preparing an outline planning application for a new residential development of up to 450 new homes in Mollington, Chester.
Residents are now being invited to view and comment on the plans, which, according to the developer, will contain a variety of "high-quality" and "energy efficient" homes, of which at least 45% will be designated as affordable housing.
A public consultation will be held from Monday 12 October until midnight on Sunday 1 November, in order to gather public input from local residents.
During this time, details of the proposals will be available to view here.
The community can also speak to members of the project team during two community drop-in events.
These will take place on Monday 19 October from 2pm to 5.45pm at King George V Sports Hub in Blacon, and on Tuesday 20 October from 5pm to 7pm, at Brook Mollington Banastre Hotel on Parkgate Road.
Feedback from members of the local community will help shape Taylor Wimpey's outline planning application, which will be submitted to Cheshire West and Chester Council later in the autumn.
According to the developer, the development will deliver thoughtful design that "considers the sites rural setting and retention of green assets", creating new public open spaces, including allotments and play areas, and a biodiversity net gain of at least 10%.
Vehicular access into the site will also be created by two new junctions on Parkgate Road, and there will be multiple footpath connections into surrounding communities.
Tim Booth, planning manager at Taylor Wimpey North West, said: "Gathering local views is an essential part of our development process.
"Engaging with the community and listening to their ideas will enable us to make the best possible contribution to Mollington and the surrounding area.
"We're keen to hear from residents, businesses and stakeholders on our plans for a new, sustainable development.
"For those unable to attend the drop-in events, our plans and exhibition boards will be available to view online, alongside ways to get involved and have your say."
