A former community pub in Chester could be converted into an Indian restaurant.

A licensing application has been submitted to Cheshire West and Chester Council for the conversion of the former Dee Miller pub on Coniston Road.

With the restaurant's trading name listed as Tanishq Indian Cuisine, the eatery would serve food and alcohol - alongside offering a takeaway service.

Proposed opening hours are 5pm to 10pm from Monday to Sunday, with the venue open until 11pm on Friday and Saturday nights.

The Dee Miller pub was shut for over four years after it officially closed its doors in 2018.

Part of its site was later extended and converted into a Heron Foods store.

In 2023, the venue got a new lease of life, with The North Pub Company Limited taking over the premises and reopening the boozer.

Despite this, the community pub, which dates back to the 1960s, was put up for auction late last year.
