New dental practice set for former Chester university building

A Victorian property on Liverpool Road is set to reopen as a dental practice.
Abbots Park Dental Care is now welcoming new patients, offering cosmetic dentistry, Invisalign, dental implants and other treatments.
The building at 67 Liverpool Road, previously known as the Elgan Edwards Building, was formerly used as offices as part of the University of Chester's law school. It sits within a predominantly residential area.
Previously, the site was the subject of plans to be used for education provision by Maple Grove School, a Chester-based school for autistic children.
In 2023, plans were submitted by adviser Alder King on behalf of the Chester Diocesan Board of Finance and the University of Chester to convert the building into a satellite facility for up to 30 pupils.
The proposal, which would have supported Maple Grove School, was intended to provide additional specialist education space for autistic children aged five to 18.
However, Cheshire West and Chester Council rejected the application in 2024, raising concerns over parking, traffic congestion and vehicle movement within the site.
The report said: "The application fails to demonstrate how the proposal would make safe provision for access to and from the site for all users of the development, including the provision of access to adopted highways."
