Chester's Kings Moat Community Primary School has welcomed its first pupils.

Located within Kings Moat Garden Village, the new state-of-the-art school will be operated by Sandstone Trust and will initially welcome children in reception and key stage one, alongside 13 nursery places.

Commissioned by Cheshire West and Chester Council, the school will grow in phases as the community grows, initially providing up to 210 primary school places.

A future expansion will increase its capacity to 315 pupils when additional places are required.

As well as modern classrooms, the new school includes a hall, kitchen and dining facilities and is situated close to the community's playing fields, 3G pitches and public park.

Taylor Wimpey contributed £1.6 million towards the new school through its Section 106 contributions.

Part of Taylor Wimpey plc, the construction company is one of the UK's largest residential developers, operating from 22 regional businesses across the UK.

Kings Moat Community Primary School will open its doors in September 2026.
