Cheshire Fashion Week returns for its seventh year next weekend, with MANGO opening the runway ahead of its new Chester store.

Taking place on Saturday 5 September, Chester Cathedral will host the event, featuring designers from the UK, USA, Ireland, Portugal and Nigeria.

Other attendees include Unblemished by Cherice, Original Ireland, ILZA, Mihaela Dowman, Pearl-Marie Creations, Liam Brandon Murray, Exclusively by Michael Adam, Angel Cuomo and Andrea Harrison Designs.

Ahead of the launch of its new Chester store, MANGO will use its opening runway to highlight its fresh sustainability strategy.

More than 230 models, photographers, make-up artists, hairdressers, designers and production staff, are expected to work behind the scenes.

Organisers say the scale of the production makes Cheshire Fashion Week one of the largest fashion week events in the North.

Sustainability is also a major theme this year, with all participating designers vetted for their craftsmanship, creativity and focus on garment longevity.

Claire Namukolo Raven, director of Cheshire Fashion Week, said the event "continues to draw growing crowds to the city".

She added: "It is incredibly rewarding to watch designers travel from across the UK and the world to the place where it all started.

"Our goal this year is showcasing the strength of regional fashion and pushing for sustainability. We have international designers arriving and a 230-strong backstage team.

"Partnering with MANGO Chester as they prepare to open in Eastgate Square perfectly links a global fashion name with our vital independent designers.

"We want this runway to celebrate authentic craftsmanship, prompting brands to show a real commitment to responsible fashion."
