Cheshire Fashion Week returns for its seventh year next weekend, with MANGO opening the runway ahead of its new Chester store.

International designers and more than 230 backstage participants are expected at the showcase, which takes place at Chester Cathedral on Saturday 5 September.

MANGO will use its opening runway to highlight its sustainability strategy ahead of the launch of its new store in Eastgate Square.

The event will feature designers from the UK, USA, Ireland, Portugal and Nigeria, with Unblemished by Cherice, Original Ireland, ILZA, Mihaela Dowman, Pearl-Marie Creations, Liam Brandon Murray, Exclusively by Michael Adam, Angel Cuomo and Andrea Harrison Designs all taking to the runway.

More than 230 models, photographers, make-up artists, hairdressers, designers and production staff, will work behind the scenes. Organisers say the scale of the production makes Cheshire Fashion Week one of the largest fashion week events in the North.

Sustainability is also a major theme this year, with all participating designers vetted for their craftsmanship, creativity and focus on garment longevity.

Claire Namukolo Raven, director of Cheshire Fashion Week, said the event "continues to draw growing crowds to the city".

She added: "It is incredibly rewarding to watch designers travel from across the UK and the world to the place where it all started.
